The MP4-12C, now more formally known as the 12C was the first production car built by McLaren since the F1 in the late 90's. The 12C uses a carbon fibre composite chassis and features a 3.8 litre twin turbo engine which prodcuces just shy of 600 horsepower. Alongside various other beneficial lightweight applications, the car incorporates a system called ''brake steer'' derived from Formula 1. This is where the inside rear wheel is braked during fast cornering to reduce understeer and allow the car to cling tigther to the apex. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission with incredible shift times.
The 12C Spider's factory options include carbon fibre McLaren badge, carbon fibre side blades, diamond cut alloy wheels, silver brake calipers, front and rear parking sensors, carbon fibre engine cover, carbon black leather interior with red stitching and sports exhaust.
