In the words of Autocar, ‘Ferrari’s brief was simple enough: take the 1990 Formula 1 racer and transform it into a street-legal production car. The amazing new F50 is the result. An uncompromising, carbon fibre, V12, two-seat sports car based on the Ferrari 614/2 that won six races in 1990 and almost snatched the driver’s championship for Alain Prost. If that’s not passing on the fruits of a peerless automotive heritage, nothing is.’
The F50 is quite simply a car that ticks all of the boxes; an individually numbered supercar from the gates of Marnello with a high-revving naturally aspirated V12 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and the ability for the driver to enjoy open-top motoring. To further add to the driving experience, the F50 also boasted double-wishbone pushrod suspension complemented by unassisted steering and braking systems; the ultimate F1 car for the road.
This European-specification F50 is one of just 349 examples built between 1995 and 1997 and was supplied new via Ferrari Barcelona in 1997 and configured in the unmistakeable shade of Rosso Corsa over Nero leather seats with Rosso cloth inserts. Notably, the F50 was the only of the ‘F-Cars’ to be individually numbered, with original and low mileage examples extremely rare the market today.
We are pleased to offer this F50 to the market, a car which must be one of the most complete and lowest mileage available in the world today. It is an example that has been used sparingly and cherished by each keepers which can be seen in the exceptional condition in all regards. These is exceptional weave from the original Rosso Corsa paint, even on the front bumper with this F50 also retaining its original panels that are confirmed by the body numbers that are presents.
The car has covered less than 2,500 miles form new and is further complemented by the presence of its original service book, handbooks, hardtop and flight case, factory luggage, soft top, Tods shoe bag and Ferrari F50 presentation book along Ferrari Classiche Certification confirming fully matching numbers.
The F50 market is one that goes from strength-to-strength; the only F-Car that offers a manual V12 drivetrain, an individual number and open-top motoring; a car that’s collectability is only outweighed by the driving experience. This example is U.K. registered and taxes paid and offers a unique opportunity for a collector to acquire one of the most original examples available today.
