Remarkable single ownership from new with just 3,000 miles – £152k list price
The R8 GT was the ultimate variant of the ‘original’ generation of R8; a lightweight, more powerful and focussed derivative. The GT enjoyed an increase in power to the Lamborghini-derived V10 to 552 hp and a saving of nearly 100kg with extensive used of carbon fibre on the exterior and interior. Just 333 examples of the R8 GT were produced, all of which enjoyed an individual number; only 33 UK cars were allocated for the UK market.
This unrepeatable example has covered just over 3,000 miles from new and was tastefully specified in possibly the strongest combination of Ice Silver with Alcantara interior complete with the all-important bucket seats. The GT will always be regarded as the most desirable and exclusive variant of the ‘original’ Audi R8; a car that will only serve to increase in notoriety now it is not longer in production. A single-owner example such as this would enhance any collection of ‘youngtimer’ modern classics, a sector of the collector car market that is only set to grow in the coming years.
