Ferrari 360 Modena – Manual

This Ferrari 360 Modena, chassis no. 121951 was imported via Maranello Concessionaires LTD and delivered by JCT600 Ferrari in January 2001 to a Mr. N. Cotton. The car was optioned with the highly desirable manual transmission, and fitted with carbon fibre racing seats. Originally finished in the ultimate colour combination of a Rosso Corsa exterior and a beautifully upholstered Beige and Nero interior, the car still proudly boasts this untouched specification. Further options include Scuderia Ferrari wing shields, red brake calipers, leather headlining, 6-disc CD changer and Challenge rear grille.

This fine example retains its original service book, handbooks, manuals, Schedoni leather document wallet, factory charger and tyre inflator, all original keys, black fobs and red master fob.

Furlonger workshops have recently carried out a no-expense-spared list of preparation works prior to marketing the car for sale. These works included an annual service, cambelt change, new cam cover gaskets, new camshaft oil seals, new A/C compressor, ball joints and track rod ends where necessary and 4 new Pirelli tyres.

The Ferrari 360 is often labelled as the first modern V8 Ferrari, with an entirely new exterior design and multiple technological improvements over the incredibly popular F355. Like other Ferraris, ‘360’ denotes the engines 3.6 litre capacity and Modena pays tribute to the birth place of Enzo Ferrari, Modena. At the heart of the 360’s development was its chassis, where Ferrari partnered with Alcoa (the 8^th largest producer of aluminium in the world) to produce an entirely new space-frame chassis that was a staggering 40% stiffer than the steel one used in the F355. Despite its visual increase in size the 360 was in fact 28% lighter with the aid of the new chassis.

The 360’s all new V8 engine generated 395 horsepower, which allowed the car to reach 60mph in just 4.5 seconds meaning it was almost as fast as its V12 sibling, the 550 Maranello. The 360 was available in both manual and F1 paddle shift, of which most buyers chose F1 due to its racing feel. F1 could be operated in both a manual and auto mode to suit the needs of the driver, this was also accompanied by a ‘Sport’ mode button which activates some subtle changes to transform the way the car drives. In cars with the F1 gearbox, enabling sport mode quickens gear change times. Dependant on engine speeds the upshift is almost instantaneous and downshifts are also faster, the throttle is automatically blipped and the lower gear is immediately engaged in order to provide additional braking at the rear wheels if slowing.
