Jaguar XJ220

Furlonger are pleased to offer this extremely rare right-hand drive Jaguar XJ220 finished in Monza Red over a Charcoal interior, with an odometer reading of just 4,000 miles. Chassis no. 691 (car no.125) was supplied new via Jaguar Sport in 1994 to its first keeper, a Mr Hock who resided in Singapore. Now offered for sale, this XJ220 poses an excellent opportunity to own one of the few right-hand drive examples finished in this specification and one with such an astounding level of preservation.

On arrival to Singapore, this XJ220 car was used sparingly, covering a mere 156 miles before being placed into long-term storage. In 2004 the car was sold and exported to the U.K. where it has remained since. Its first U.K. based keeper, a Mr S. Wood commissioned marque specialist Don Law to conduct an extensive mechanical recommissioning of the car in June 2004.

In 2008, this XJ220 was purchased by its second keeper, a Mr. A Chittenden who during his ownership would entrust the car’s maintenance to Jaguar Cars LTD. Chassis no. 691 would periodically visit their workshop for its servicing requirements, all the while being used diligently in warm, dry conditions to ensure its presentation remain in the highest order. In March 2017, Mr Chittenden would sell the car to its third and current keeper with just 3,400 miles. In July of 2017, chassis no. 691 was serviced by Jaguar Coventry and just a few weeks later would take part in the Silverstone Classic event ‘Celebrating 25 Years Of XJ220’ where it joined 31 other XJ220s on the circuit – of which just 3 would be finished in Monza Red.

Returning to Don Law in March 2021 with 3,940 miles, this XJ220 would undergo a comprehensive engine-out service and overhaul including the replacement of fuel pumps, all coolant hoses, over braided fuel hoses, timing belts, spark plugs, clutch assembly, and any other required works which totalled the sum of £30,000. Since these works have been completed the car has covered less than 100 miles and has remained in storage.

Furlonger have been fortunate to handle the sale, extensive maintenance and restoration of XJ220s for well over a decade, with numerous low mileage examples passing through our doors – chassis no. 691 is no exception. This car’s cosmetic and mechanical condition is a testament to the diligent use and careful ownership the car has seen, with no expense spared by each of its 3 keepers. With just 282 examples produced, it’s believed that this car is one of just 69 finished in the highly desirable shade of Monza Red. The car is accompanied by all its original handbooks, leather document wallet, tool kit, both keys and a history file containing numerous invoices and MOT certificates.
