McLaren 650S Le Mans Edition – 1 Of 50 Produced

Furlonger are pleased to offer this exceptionally well-presented UK supplied McLaren 650S Le Mans Edition finished in Sarthe Grey over a Carbon Black and Orange interior. Built to celebrate the 20^th Anniversary of McLaren’s victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 650S Le Mans was designed by none other than MSO (McLaren Special Operations) in collaboration with the F1’s original designer, Peter Stevens. Limited to just 50 examples worldwide and a handful in right-hand drive, the 650S Le Mans is one of the rarest, and most collectible contemporary McLarens produced to this day.

Inspired by the no. 59 McLaren F1 GTR, the 650S Le Mans edition features some special design features, including a roof snorkel intake, louvered front wings, and most notably a set of five-spoke ‘Le Mans’ wheels that pay homage to the original OZ Motorsport alloys fitted to the race cars. Further, the 650S Le Mans edition features an array of carbon fibre bodywork including the front fascia, rear diffuser, side skirts, and engine bay panels. To complement the exterior, the car’s interior panels are too clad with carbon fibre. The luxuriousness and exclusivity doesn’t stop there however, the Le Mans package adds a striking finish to the interior, with leather and Alcantara embroidered trim, ‘Le Mans’ embossed to the headrests, and a dedicated driver’s door card plaque saying ‘’ McLaren – 24 Heures Du Mans Winners 1995’’. This example also features the all-important front and rear parking sensors, Meridian Surround Sound System, and lifting system.

In 2018 we were tasked with sourcing a McLaren 650S Le Mans by a long-standing client and close friend of the business. In a matter of weeks, we located, purchased and delivered this example to him. Since purchasing the car, the owner has driven it regularly, but ensured it remain meticulously maintained via our workshops without sparing any expense. During winter, the car has remained on trickle charge in a temperature-controlled garage alongside his other special cars. To further the car’s sonorous engine note, the client requested the fitting of Larini sports cats which have made an astounding difference. We were delighted to prepare the car for Salon Prive Concours in 2021, at which it won its class along with a De Tomaso Mangusta we had restored for the same client.

Now offered for sale, this McLaren 650S Le Mans Edition would make a fitting addition to a collection of highly desirable and low production supercars. The 650S is widely regarded as one of the most capable, usable, and enjoyable contemporary supercars, with many examples being used frequently and accumulating higher mileages than that of other supercar manufacturers.
