Furlonger are delighted to offer this remarkably well kept Ferrari 456 GTA, finished in the desirable combination of Grigio Titanio over Nero leather interior.
Supplied new by HR Owen in October 1998 to a Mr Stanley, the 456 GTA was used sparingly by its first keeper – covering just 2,498 miles by January 2000. The car spent its early life being maintained by Ferrari main dealers, until 2007 it was then cared by various marque specialists. Having been supplied by Furlonger, this 456 GTA is well known to us and is one of the few to offer such a wonderful balance of condition and originality.
Present with the car is its original service book, handbooks, leather bookpack, spare key with red master fob and an extensive folder containing numerous invoices, receipts, MOT certificates and more. The 456 benefits from a recent comprehensive cambelt service, gearbox service, 4 new tyres and all important anti-corrosion treatment.
This well presented example has been thoroughly enjoyed by her current owner since being supplied by Furlonger in 2015, driven across Europe and even through the gates of Maranello. A no questions car which has been meticulously maintained, cherished and enjoyed.
The 456M, in its GT and automatic gearbox GTA guises, is the evolution of Ferrari’s highly successful interpretation of its traditional 2+2 models. First introduced in 1992, the 456 GT was the marque’s first car designed with the 21st century in mind and has been much appreciated by Maranello’s clients for the way it provides saloon-class comfort and roominess combined with class-leading performance. A true four-seater coupé, the 456 GT was also the first modern Ferrari to revert to a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout, with the gearbox in unit with the rear differential for ideal weight distribution as well as plenty of space for passengers and luggage.
Originally penned by Pietro Camardella of Pininfarina, the 456 GT/GTA featured a distinctive and elegant design. The 456 sits upon a tubular steel space-frame chassis with a one-piece carbon composite bonnet and body panels of aluminum. The 456’s name like many of its predecessors denotes the cubic displacement per cylinder. Equipped with a 5.5L V12 which is surprisingly derived from that of the Dino V6 rather than a conventional V12, the 456’s power plant produced an impressive 436hp. Ferrari claimed that the car could achieve an eye watering 192mph!
