The Lamborghini Diablo SV revived the first Super Veloce title that was used some 25 years beforehand on the Mirua SV. 'SV' stands for 'Super Veloce', this simply translates to 'Super Speed'. This is a badge which has only been allocated to several V12 Lamborghini model types, the Miura, Diablo, Murcielago and finally the Aventador. More simply, the SV model range (not including the Miura which was only more powerful) serves as a lighter and more hard core version of the already monstrous base car. The most distinctive changes within the SV range are typically within the bodywork and design of the car, but these combined with various mechanical updates and tweeks in performance deliver an incredible result.
In 1993 the VT was released with 4 wheel drive and featured an updated interior, leading to the sales of the original 2 wheel drive car to slow down. In 1995 Lamborghini launched the SV, with some major changes over the original 2 wheel drive including 510 horsepower, shorter ratio gearbox, additional Jota air intake fitted to the engine lid, 18'' split rim wheels, upgraded brakes, complete alcantara interior and a weight saving of 170kg.
This particular SV was previously an Alpine show car with additional amplifiers and sub woofers. The car presented is an excellent example with a well documented history and includes its original service book, both keys and history file containing bills and invoices. 1 of just 33 UK delivered cars, this first generation of Lamborghini lightweights is an affordable and rare manual classic supercar.
